A pitcture of Virginia from the early 1900s. As you can see the streetscape has not changed that much in a century.
Virginia will kick off its year long commemoration of the town's 400th anniversary next January as it looks toward its quadricentennial in 2011 with a busy agenda of events, activities and exhibits.
The Gateway to the Lakes is ready to party on and attract record crowds to the east Cavan town. The town still retains a lot of its old world charm, colour and ambience. Next year promises to be a very special one for the town as it joins both Belturbet and Bailieborough who have already celebrated their quadricentennial.
