Cootehill man honoured by President

A community activist appointed by President Michael D Higgins to the Council of State "vows to ask the hard questions" .

Ruairi McKiernan, who hails from Cootehill will join six other presidential nominees, including a former judge, an advocate for victims of the Magdalene Laundries and a professor of history in acting as a key adviser to the newly-installed head of state.
