A group in Belturbet have embarked on a project to fully restore and rebuild an old 'shawl wagon' once used on the Cavan and Leitrim Railway (C&L R).

Six volunteers associated with the Belturbet Community Development Association (BCDA) began the restoration work towards the end of last year. When completed, the wagon, once used to transport cattle on the C&L R narrow-gauge will be put on display at the refurbished Belturbet Station heritage centre.

Full story in this week's Anglo-Celt.
