The grounds of Blacklion's Loughan House open prison, which incorporates a 50-acre sheep farm, could now be renamed 'Kavanagh Country' after the far-sighted prison governor, who puts inmates to good use on the land. Governor Pat Kavanagh may not worry too much about stoney grey soil, but his face lights up when he describes how the prison is gearing up for the lambing season.
