Queues are expected to form outside Multisound in Cavan from this evening onwards as Strypes fans vie to get their hands on tickets for two home-town gigs this December as part of the band’s biggest Irish tour to date.
The Anglo-Celt can exclusively reveal that the tickets for the Town Hall gigs on Thursday and Friday, December 4 and 5, will go on sale in the Cavan Town ticket outlet tomorrow (Thursday).
Though The Strypes have sold out legendary venues including the Bowery Ballroom in New York and the El Ray Theatre in LA, the Cavan lads are adamant that, hands down, their favourite place to play a gig is still their home town of Cavan. So their excitement was palpable when The Anglo-Celt caught up with the foursome as they exclusively announced the local gigs.

Speaking from Dean Street Studio in Soho, London, where the lads are putting the finishing touches to album number two, guitarist Josh McClorey takes a break between tracks to fill us in on the exciting news. “We’re all really excited about these gigs coming up, we played a small gig in Blessing’s Bar in August and it was unreal, so we’ll try recreate that madness as much as possible for the hometown shows,” he enthuses.

The Strypes will kick off their Irish Tour on Thursday, December 4, in the Town Hall Theatre, Cavan with support from up and coming Irish band 'Gangs’. They play a second show in the Town Hall on Friday, December 5.

The tour will take them to Galway, Sligo, Limerick, Drogheda, Kilkenny, Donegal, Wexford, Belfast, Derry, Sligo and Dublin.
Tickets for the gig are priced €19.15 and will go on sale tomorrow (Thursday), October 23 from Multisound in Cavan and from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide. As per last year’s gigs, 50% of each night’s ticket allocation will exclusively be available over the counter in Multisound.

The Cavan lads really have had a whirlwind journey since signing to Rocket Music in 2012. The band soon after signed a deal with Virgin/EMI. The label released their debut album September 2012, which landed in the Top 5 in the UK and Ireland. They were invited to perform on Later with Jools Holland and were dubbed as the 'hottest new band in the UK by the NME’.
Last October, they completed a sold out regional Japanese tour, which included three Tokyo shows and a performance on the coveted Japanese TV show, Music Station. They have since been back to Japan for a second tour and this year made their first visit to Australia.

This Summer they played a stormer at many of the major music festivals around the world including a main-stage slot at Electric Picnic. The Strypes are signed to Photo Finish / Republic label in the United States, they have toured throughout North America, selling out legendary venues.
The band continue to receive major press attention in the US following their live performances on Letterman and Conan earlier in the year.
