Stolen ATM recovered in County Monaghan

Following a report of the theft of an ATM from a Supermarket at Camlough, Newry, County Down overnight, detective Gardaí from Carrickmacross Station, patrolling under operation Thor, carried out searches in the Carrickmacross area this morning. 

At Drumass, Inniskeen Gardaí came upon a white transit type van with three men nearby. The men fled on foot leaving the van. One man in his 20s was arrested near the scene and the search for the other two is continuing.
On searching the van Gardaí discovered an ATM. A forensic examination of the van and its contents are under way.
The search for the two men is continuing with the support from the Air Support Unit, the Emergency Response Unit and the Regional Support Units and is a joint operation with the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
