WATCH: Coveney bullish about chances on Cavan visit

Simon Coveney was in Cavan Town to meet the grassroots of Fine Gael on Tuesday night and he got a rousing reception from members who congregated in the Kilmore Hotel to hear at first hand his vision for the future of Fine Gael and the country.

Senator James Reilly and the Minister for Health, Simon Harris gave him a spirited endorsement from the podium and there was a few side swipes at his opponent, Leo Varadkar's remarks about those who get up early for work in the mornings.

Simon Coveney assured his audience he was in the game to win and a legendary member from County Leitrim regailed the audience with the fact that Cork lowered the colours of the All Ireland Champions, Tipperary, when they were not given a chance.

Sean McMahon from The Anglo Celt spoke to an ebullient Simon Coveney after the meeting.
