Author's account of doing it her way

A memoir of a life that traces the path many took leaving Ireland in search of employment opportunities to change their fortunes is covered in an engaging autobiography of a Fermanagh lady.

'I Did It My Way' is a journey into the past of Elizabeth McCluskey. It traces her life from Roslea, Fermanagh through employment as an live in home help, to that of a General Nurse in England.

The memoir offers an interesting view on the the religious polarity of life in the North of Ireland at a time when sectarian divide was the accepted way of things. Ms McCluskey goes on to recounts her experience of moving to England and her subsequent career path.

From there the author outlines her path of motherhood and a move to Sweden, before returning to England. The final phase of the book covers Ms McCluskey's return to Fermanagh for a sort of 'retirement' which includes a lot of charity and voluntary work.

The book is printed printed and published by Ecclesvile Printing Service in Tyrone. Ms McCluskey will be in Easons in Cavan on Saturday 23 at 4pm to read from the book and sign copies.
