Lucky Lotto winner set for €112k windfall

 

One lucky Lotto player is set to start the New Year in good form after landing a prize of €112,469 in last night's National Lottery Draw.

The local punter bought their ticket at Rudden's Costcutter on Railway Road, Cavan Town, matching five numbers plus the Bonus ball during Wednesday's draw.

The numbers drawn were: 17, 20, 22, 24, 25, 40, and 18.

“We have sold a WINNING National lottery ticket worth a huge €112,469,” Rudden's Costcutter, which recently underwent a major interior revamp, posted on Facebook.

There was no winner of the €2 million overall Lotto jackpot, but over 25,000 players won prizes, the largest of which was the Match 5 + Bonus prize of €112,469.

Its the second story with positive Lotto connotations in as many weeks in Cavan, when a €1 EuroMillions bet at a local bookmakers saw the player scoop €33,000.

The bet, placed in one of BoyleSports' Cavan shops, came in just three days before Christmas Day, December 25, as Cavan kept up the tradition of being one of the luckiest counties in the country in which to play the Lottery whatever the method

Also last year a winning ticket was sold at Argue’s Londis Store in Cootehill, Co Cavan eanred the player a cool €6.4 million from the Lotto jackpot on Wednesday, July 5.
