Strypes' top pops with tour bus serenade

What do the rock-stars of today get up to on their tour bus in the early hours of the morning?

Far from the tall tales involving Led Zeppelin's infamous mudshark incident, or that time Waylon Jennings tied George Jones to a tree, Cavan's famous foursome The Strypes have have instead show an all-hours penchant for choreographed harmonising.

The almost one-minute-long clip titled 'Tour Bus Sessions', with the tagline 'This was done at 3:30am', features band bassist Pete O'Hanlon swaggering in the aisle of their coach, dressed in chequered pyjamas and armed only with an acoustic guitar.

With drummer Evan Walsh and frontman Ross Farrelly on backing vocals, the trio- minus guitarist Josh McClorey- take into a rendition of 'Found A Way' by Drake Bell, of Nickelodeon's American television sitcom Drake & Josh fame.

No further explanation is give, but what ensues is both creative and hilarious, in so for as while Pete sings, the other two emerge on cue from their curtained sleeping areas.

The Strypes are currently on tour, playing a host of gigs across the UK and Europe. Later this week the lads will play Brussels, followed by Paris, Bilbao, Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, before returning to the UK for concerts across the country.
Later this year the band will add the unique honour of joining an exclusive list of bands invited back to showcase at the upcoming South by South West (SXSW) music festival in Texas.

Three-years-ago the Cavan four-piece were riding the cusp of a wave following the release of 'Snapshot'. Their appearance at SXSW is memorable for many reasons, not least for backing BP Fallon in his performance of 'Vicious' at a Lou Reed memorial concert.

Being presented with SXSW's Grulke Prize for 'Developing Non-US Act', and an ensuing appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman only served to further cement the band's burgeoning reputation among the most exciting up-and-coming in the industry.

An Irish Number 1 selling album in 'Little Victories' followed by 2017's critically acclaimed 'Spitting Image' in the intervening three-years mean that Ross, Josh, Pete and Evan are returning to Austin with an added degree of stature.
