Counting almost done
As final boxes were emptied and the talliers made the last ticks on their clipboard the shape of the Cavan Monaghan’s decision on the Repeal of the 8th Amendment became apparent. The counting proper continued as the count centre staff sorted the votes into appropriate piles.
The number of onlookers was considerably less than a local or general election, but there were equally as fervent in their support. As the final shake up made itself know many of the No campaigners drifted off as hope for their cause evaporated.
Diehards stuck it out. The spoilt votes were examined as the work toward a definitive number continued. A result from the Drumalee count centre is expected in the next half hour. The Anglo Celt will Facebook Live the announcement.
