Sky may well get exclusive rights to show an All-Ireland quarter-final featuring Dublin.

GAA strike a deal with Sky to cover live matches

Under a new three year broadcasting rights agreement Sky will broadcast 20 live GAA championship games this summer.

The deal will see the the subscription channel have exclusive rights for 14 matches, with a further six matches at the climax of both the hurling and football All-Ireland championships to be shown by both Sky and RTÉ.
Most notably, under the deal Sky will show exclusive coverage of the All-Ireland football quarter-final involving the Leinster champions on August 9. The bookies would anticipate that game will involve reigning All-Ireland champions Dublin, which would be guaranteed to capture an enormous audience for the satellite station.

Their GAA live coverage will get underway on June 7 when Kilkenny clash with Offaly in Leinster hurling quarter-final.
Announcing the new TV deal, GAA President Liam O’Neill said: “Making our games more widely available to Irish people abroad was a critical factor in our approach to these negotiations.”
