Grainne Smith impressed off the bench for Cavan.

Late goal secures ladies a draw with donegal

Cavan 2-10
Donegal 2-10

A goal in the 63rd minute from Cavan wing-forward Sarah Murray saw the hosts snatch a draw following an entertaining clash against Donegal at Kingspan Breffni Park’s 3G pitch this afternoon.

Donegal took the lead in the first minute through Yvonne McGonagle and, barring a short spell in the first half, kept their noses in front all the way until Murray’s late, late strike saw the Breffni girls maintain their unbeaten run.

Cavan trailed by 2-5 to 1-6 at half-time, with Donna English outstanding at midfield, but they trailed by four with just six minutes remaining on the clock.

However, a great point from sub Gráinne Smith got them back within three before Rosie Crowe found Murray, who coolly slotted home to grab a share of the spoils.
