Video sfc match abandoned due to fuse box fire

There was drama in Kingspan Breffni Park tonight as the Hotel Kilmore SFC clash between Castlerahan and Gowna was abandoned at half-time due to a fire in a floodlight mast at the back of the main stand.

With Castlerahan leading by 0-10 to 0-2, smoke was detected coming from a fuse box on the mast and within minutes, the board made the decision to abandon the match.

The Castlerahan players were understandably unhappy with the decision but, as county board chairman Gerry Brady explained, there was no option in the circumstances but to abandon the match.

Admission will be free when the match is re-fixed. The match will be replayed from the beginning.
