Cillian Sheridan has now scored nine league goals this season, the best return of his career to date.

VIDEO: Sheridan nets against Celtic again

Bailieborough man Cillian Sheridan has made a habit of scoring against his old club Celtic and he repeated the trick again last night (Wednesday) when he hit the net for Kilmarnock in their 4-1 defeat to the Glasgow giants at Parkhead. Sheridan drew Killie level in the 47th minute when he slotted in a cross from newcomer William Gros. The goal - the Cavanman's ninth league strike of the season - levelled matters after a first-half Joe Ledley strike had put the Hoops ahead, but a reinvigorated Celtic piled pressure on the Ayrshire visitors and the rewards came quickly through an Anthony Stokes strike on either side of an Adam Matthews double. "With the chances Celtic created, Neil [Lennon] will probably think it should have been seven or eight," said Kilmarnock assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl. "It would sound strange that we were quite happy." The Rugby Park side lie eighth of 12 teams, eight points behind second-placed Inverness. Celtic are 15 points clear at the top.
