Licensing laws Michael Fagan, Fagan's, Kilcogy, was fined €250 at Cavan District Court for a breach of the licensing laws at 4.10am on Sunday, August 2, at Mic Sins Bar, Kilcogy. Inspector Alan Cunningham said gardaí were on mobile patrol when they saw a number of people leaving at the premises in the early hours. When they entered, they found between 70 and 80 people there. Michael Ryan, solicitor defending said it was a bank holiday weekend and his client had gone out for the night and left someone else in charge. He was putting his hands up to the offence. Judge Conal Gibbons said it as a bit much at 4.10am. No licence to sell spirits Ibrahim Shalabi, t/a Little Sicily, 10 Landsdowne Manor, Swellan, Cavan, was fined €1,270 mitigated to €635 when he pleaded guilty at Cavan District Court to selling spirits in his restaurant at Newcourt Shopping Centre, Church Street, Cavan, on July 22 without a licence. No Insurance The following were fined at Cavan District Court for driving without insurance: David O'Connor, 31 Annalee Manor, Ballyhaise, €500; and Trebacz Przemyslaw, 24 Ardkeen, Cavan, €500 and disqualified for one year plus fined €3,900 for an unregistered vehicle. Dumped rubbish illegally Ursula Quinn, 34 The Drive, Hunters Run, Clonee, Dublin 15, was fined €250 with €387.28 costs for dumping domestic refuse bags at Kilnavara, Cavan, between July 22 and August 3. Mobile Phone Patrick Maurice Walsh, 49 Palmerstown Green, Palmerstown, Dublin 20, was fined €150 at Cavan District Court for using a mobile phone while driving at Pollamore Far on August 8, 2009. Also, Mary McEntee, Corrachen, Scotstown, Scotshouse, was ordered to donate €150 to Vincent de Paul for a similar offence at Pollamore Near on August 11, 2009.
