The late Gerard Daly.

Family renew appeal for missing Gerard Daly

The family of Gerard Daly, who has been missing from his home at Cornaveagh, near Bailieborough since June of last year, have renewed their appeal for information on his disappearance. The timing of the appeal coincides with Gerard's 44th birthday today, Wednesday. The Dublin born dog breeder was last seen on Sunday, June 26 at 6pm. The family are urging any person, even with the smallest piece of information, to make it know to the gardai. They hope may provide the missing link in the investigation to find Gerard. The Garda investigation is headed up by Superintendent Gerry O'Brien and last February The Anglo-Celt reported that they were pursuing up to 400 lines of inquiry which in addition to the Bailieborough area, included Dublin, the border region, England, Jersey and Malta. They are also working working closely with the PSNI, Interpol and Europol and detectives from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation. At the tim eof his disappearance Mr Daly's Alsation dogs were in pup and he was expecting six new pups to be born. The dogs were being trained for the security industry and Supt O'Brien said that such well trained dogs were making around €1,000 per pup. There was no sign of a struggle or a disturbance. The only things missing are his mobile phone and the keys to his van. Mr Daly was reported missing on Wednesday, June 29. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the gardai at Bailieborough on 042 9665102 or any garda station.
