Cavan band announces European tour dates

Claiming success after success, Cavan band The Strypes have just announced 13 dates that will see them bring their enigmatic and energetic live show to stages across the UK, Germany and Holland. Looking to build on what was an incredible 2012, topped off with a sold-out show at Dublin's Whelan's venue, the local four-piece are set to storm the stage at famous underground music venues in some of the continent's biggest cities. As part of the tour, the band will play a number of free shows, at The Old Blue Last on January 24 and The Social on February 12 in London as well as The Birdcage in Bristol on January 26. Other UK venues include The Bodega in Nottingham on February 15; The Leaf in Liverpool on 16; and, on the continent, Paradiso Upstairs in Amsterdam; Motel Mozaique in Rotterdam and Indra in Hamburg in April and May respectively. Irish fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the band have not been left out either and they will play at the Northern Ireland Mod Weekender at the Marine Court Hotel in Bangor, Down on April 12 next. Last year, The Strypes picked up some impressive fans including The Modfather, Paul Weller and British guitar legend Jeff Beck and 2013 is already looking like a big year for the local lads.
