Runaway Go play Cafe Sessions tonight

Café Session’s band a Runaway success

Music aficionados will already be aware that, in 2011, the Belfast-based indie pop band Runaway Go emerged as a force to be reckoned with. And now, they are about to become a household name as they trail-blaze their way through the Irish music scene, via Cavan’s of course, with heaving, high-energy performances and an arsenal of dynamic music.

This week’s Chapter 1 guests should provide a gig to remember. Fronted by joint vocalists Dave Jackson and Fiona O’Kane, with Javed Love on drums, Chris Jackson on bass and James Lappin on guitar, the bands early performances have received high accolades from reviewers describing them as 'a rare spectacle' and 'one of the best bands in the country'.

Over the past six months, in the Start Together Studio in Belfast, the band have been recording their debut album - due for release this year - with Jonathan Shakhovskoy, who has worked with Beady Eye & U2.

Industry interest

Although it’s early days for Runaway GO, the band have attracted great interest from several corners of the music industry. The track that’s about to make the most noise is ‘This Is Real’, the follow up to their confident single ‘Jump Start’, which gives a worthy representation of the calibre you can expect from Runaway GO’s debut album.

The band will be supported by The Moogles - hot off a great support slot at the last Cafe Sessions gig. The group will read two pieces from new works by female playwrights.
