Brendan McCahey needs your votes!

Brendan battles in The Voice this weekend

Cavan contestant on The Voice Brendan McCahey tells the Celt that he’s feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s live show. This Sunday the Shercock native will be pitted against two others from his group, Team Bressie. Each coach splits their teams in half with three from each team performing and competing against each other in week one and two. The act with the highest score on each team (combination of public vote and coaches score) goes straight through to round two. Each coach then must save one act who they want to see in round two.

Brendan reveals to The Anglo-Celt that his song choice will be a thoroughly Cavan affair- he has chosen recently released by The Strypes. “We chose the song a few weeks ago, so I’ve been practising a lot and at this stage I’m feeling confident and well rehearsed. I’ll be playing my guitar and singing ‘You can’t judge a book’ which The Strypes have recently covered- but I’ll be putting a more grungy twist on it.”

He tells the Celt that he’s enjoying the experience immensely, “the support from everybidy has been terrific- my family, my friends and the community of Cavan have been so good to me, and I can’t thank them enough for all their help.”

Brendan will appear on The Voice of Ireland this Sunday night at 6.30pm RTÉ ONE, he needs your votes to sail through to the next round. Voting numbers will be available on Sunday nights show.
