Armagh captain blamed by flag-carrier for melee

EXCLUSIVE

The woman who was holding the Cavan flag at the start of the parade before Sunday’s Ulster SFC quarter-final has pinned the blame for the melee firmly on Armagh captain Ciaran McKeever.

Paula Brady, a native of Ballyconnell, is the flag-carrier with St Michael’s Band, Enniskillen. She was due to lead the Cavan team in the parade when the Armagh team lined up in the wrong position. She claims to have spoken to the Armagh captain and stressed that she would have had “absolutely no problem” moving across to the opposite side - thus avoiding the confrontation - were she asked “politely”.
