Irish Water and Cavan County Council are working to restore water supply to customers experiencing disruptions due to a burst watermain in Cootehill town and surrounding areas.

Repairs are expected to be completed by 6pm today, and it may take a further two to three hours after this to restore normal supply to all customers affected by this unplanned outage.

To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.

Peter Gallagher, Irish Water, commented: “Repair crews are working to locate the burst and carry out emergency repairs this morning. We will continue to work closely with Cavan County Council to have water restored to all customers as quickly as possible. We are mindful of the impact this unplanned outage will have on customers and we are working as quickly as possible to fix the burst.”
