Seven schools to receive climate action funding

Seven schools in this constituency are to benefit from the Climate Action Summer Works Scheme.

The Climate Action Summer Works Scheme supports schools in improving the condition of buildings while delivering climate action measures that improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and lower operational costs.

The successful schools on this occasion are Ballyhaise NS, Cavan; St Clare's College, Cavan; St Bricin's College, Cavan; St Marys BNS, Monaghan; Scoil Mhuire, Monaghan; St Louis Secondary School, Monaghan; and Inver College, Monaghan.

Welcoming the announcement, Deputy Brendan Smith (FF) said the approved projects were assessed and prioritised by the Department based on the "individual needs of schools" and the "urgency of the works required".

“This announcement represents the second tranche of approvals under the multi-annual Climate Action Summer Works Scheme relating to applications submitted in 2025. The next tranche of approvals from the current pool of applications is expected to be announced in late 2027,” concluded Deputy Brendan Smith.
