Iris Griffin (née Pople)

Lakeview Close, Virginia, Cavan / Oldcastle, Meath

Iris Griffin (nee Pople), Lakeview Close, Virginia, Co. Cavan. 29/11/2020. Peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her loving husband Pat, brothers Tony and Don, sisters Pauline and Sylvia and her parents May and Ernie. Much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbour and friend. Sadly missed by her daughter Maureen, sons Steve and Patrick, brother David, daughters-in-law Julie and Jackie, son-in-law Hughie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

May Iris Rest in Peace.

Due to current Government/HSE guidelines the funeral will be private for family only. Funeral Mass can be streamed live at 11am on Wednesday, 2nd December, in St. Brigid’s Church, Oldcastle, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. https://www.churchmedia.tv/camera/st-brigids-church-oldcastle. As a mark of respect friends and neighbours are welcome to line that route in a socially distanced and safe manner.

Iris’ family would like to acknowledge the wonderful and amazing work and the dedication of all who looked after Iris at her time in Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan.

Tom Hannigan

Corgreagh, Kill, Cootehill, Cavan

Tom Hannigan, late of Corgreagh, Kill, Cootehill, Co. Cavan and formerly of Brookville House, Lappanduff, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, died 29th November, 2020, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Marie, his family Majella, Kieran, Olive, Denise, Nora, and their partners, his cherished grandchildren Lauren, Aoife, and Clara, his brothers Fr.James, Patrick, and Peter and sisters Nuala, Therese and Marcella, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

May He Rest in Peace.

Remains will be removed this Wednesday morning, leaving his residence at 11.45am to St. Brigid's Church, Kill, arriving at 12 noon for Funeral Mass and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass is private to family only, please.

Friends and neighbours are welcome to stand along the route, in a safe and socially distant manner as a mark of respect. Tom's family thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support during this difficult time.

To protect the welfare of everyone held dear to Tom, the house will be strictly private.

A Mass of remembrance to celebrate and remember Tom's life will be held at a later date.

Knockcor, Tydavnet, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Henry Owen Boylan, Knockcor, Tydavnet, Co.Monaghan, Tuesday 1st of December, peacefully, at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.

John Joe Carbin

Scotstown, Monaghan

Maguiresbridge and formerly Drumcoobrady, Scotstown, Co. Monaghan. Died Monday, 30th November, peacefully at the South West Acute Hospital Enniskillen. deeply regretted by his brother Gabriel, sisters Bernadette, Teresa and Philomena, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

John Joe's remains will be reposing at McKenna's Funeral Home, Park Street, Monaghan, Wednesday, 2nd December, from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock. Remains leaving Funeral Home Thursday, 3rd December, to arrive at St Mary's Church, Urbleshanny, Scotstown for requiem Mass at 11 o'clock. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. John Joe's funeral mass can be viewed on Tydavnet Parish RC Church Facebook page.

In accordance with government guidelines and in the interest of public health John Joe's funeral and burial will be private to family members only.

Josie (Josephine) Meegan (née Byrne)

Coolderry, Inniskeen, Monaghan / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Josie (Josephine) Meegan (née Byrne), Coolderry, Inniskeen & formerly Cloughvalley, Carrickmacross, 30th November 2020. In her 96th year. Peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Predeceased by her husband John, her grandson Wayne, her parents Patrick & Annie, her sisters Kathleen, Teresa & Minnie and her brothers Johnny & Packie. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her daughter Georgina (Tumelty) and her son-in-law PJ, her granddaughter Tracy & Tracy's husband Tiernan, her grandson Nyal, her great-granddaughter Leah and great-grandson Áron, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

In accordance with current guidelines, Josie's Funeral Mass will take place for family only in St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, on Thursday, 3rd December, at 11am, followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Carrickmacross. There will be an opportunity for the community to pay their respects as Josie's funeral cortège leaves her home, Coolderry, Inniskeen, on Thursday morning at 10:15am, approaching Carrickmacross via the Dundalk Road and proceeding on foot via the Valley Lodge, Farney Street, Main Street, to St. Joseph's Church.

The management and staff of The Anglo-Celt wish to extend their deepest sympathies to the relatives and friends of the deceased. May they rest in peace.
