Jill Cowan

Shannow, Ballinagh, Cavan

Jill Cowan, Nova Ves 6, Lesany, Netvoice, 25744, Czech Republic and formerly of Shannow, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan., Monday December 28th 2020. Peacefully, following a short illness, Dearly beloved partner and best friend of Martin, adored mother of Mia and Finn. Very deeply regretted by her heart broken parents, Edwin and Margaret, brothers Nigel (Fiona), Alan (Diane) sister Lynn and partner Michael. Remembered with love by her partner, daughter, son, parents, brothers, sister and her partner, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunt, cousins, relatives, neighbours, and many friends.

Removal from Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Sunday, January 10th, at 4.30pm via Ballinagh to the family home at Shannow. Jill`s funeral cortage will leave the family home on Monday at 1.30 pm, arriving St. Patrick's Parish Church, Ballintemple for funeral service at 2pm, followed by burial in adjoining churchyard. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to cancer research c/o William Foster, Funeral Director, Ricehill, Crossdoney, Cavan or any family member.

House strictly private please.

Funeral service strictly private to family only. Those who are unable to attend the funeral due to Covid restrictions are welcome to pay their respects along the route are asked to observe social distancing guidelines.

Kathleen Eames

Rahardrum, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred peacefully of Kathleen Eames, Rahardrum, Virginia, Co. Cavan at Fairlawns Nursing Home, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, on January 7, 2021(Retired teacher at St. Aidan's Comprehensive, Cootehill, Co. Cavan). Deeply regretted by her sisters Ita Clarke (Bailieborough) and Sr. Bernadette (Bon Secours Sisters, Cork), her niece Mary, her nephew Rory, cousins, relatives and friends.

Removal from Matthews Funeral Home to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia for 2 o'clock funeral Mass on Saturday followed by private cremation.

In compliance with Current Covid 19 guidelines, Kathleen's funeral Mass will be restricted to family members only. People are invited to form a guard of honour, if they so wish to, along the route of the funeral cortege from Matthews Funeral Home, Virginia to Mary Immaculate Church as a mark of respect.

The family would like to thank you all for your kindness at this sad time. In particular they would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and dedication of all who looked after Kathleen in Fairlawns Nursing Home in Bailieborough. Your exceptional care and attention will never be forgotten.

Bernard Galligan, London and late of Denbawn, Carrickaboy, Cavan; Wednesday January 6th, peacefully in London. Sadly missed by his loving wife Molly, daughter Mary Teresa and sister Rita Reilly (Alackan). Predeceased by his sister Mary Halligan, brothers Tommy, Andy, Johnny (London) and Mathias. Peggy (Margaret) Leddy, 11 Lisdarn Heights, Cavan - Derryvackney, Milltown- Bailieboro, Cavan died on 6th January 2021 peacefully in the loving care of the Staff in Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Tom, parents Pat & Bridget, brothers T.J. and John Pat. Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by her daughter Bridget Connolly (New York), sons Tommy (Enfield) and Ciaran (Butlersbridge), Son-in-law Kevin, daughters-in-law Catherine and Louise, grandchildren Danielle, Erin, Clara, Thomas and Ryan, her twin brother Peter (New York) & sister-in-law Peggy, extended family, relatives and friends.

On Saturday, 9th of January, Peggy's remains will arrive in St Aidan's Church, Butlersbridge for Funeral Mass at 1 o clock followed by burial afterwards in Drumlane Cemetery, Milltown via Derryvackney. Due to Social distancing & government guidelines Peggy's Mass & burial will be private to family only.

Julia Mc Govern (née Campbell)

Mullaghduff, Ballyconnell, Cavan

MCGOVERN (Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan January 6th, 2021 (peacefully) in the outstanding care of the staff at Oak View Nursing Home, Belturbet and the dedicated care of Dr. Geoffrey Bourke and his team. Julia, beloved wife of the late Tom McGovern, much loved and cherished mother of Julie Anne (Nyhan), Eddie, Joe, Priscilla (Reynolds), Danny and the late Stephen. Sadly missed by her sister Ellen Healy (New York), sons-in-law Gerry, George, daughters-in-law Kathleen, Mary, Barbara, adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, her extended family, neighbours and many friends. Predeceased by her sister Mary Healy (New York), brothers Pat and Tom.

Maggie Jane Crawford (née McCoy)

Killycoonagh, Newbliss, Monaghan

Maggie(in her 97th year) passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff of the Drumlin Unit, St. Mary's Castleblayney. Predeceased by her husband George and daughter Yvonne, brothers Joe, Sam and David. Darling mother of Georgina (Scott). Sadly missed by her daughter, sons-in-law Walter and Kenneth, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Maggie’s funeral cortège will travel from the family home on Saturday at approximately 1:30pm to arrive at St. Laeban's Church of Ireland, Killeevan for 2pm Funeral Service. This service will be private to family and restricted to 10 people. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Those who wish to pay their respects roadside, please adhere to HSE guidelines of 2m social distance. House strictly private please.

Brendan Macklin

No. 40, Loch Mor Avenue, Ballybay, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Brendan Macklin, No. 40 Loch Mor Avenue, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan and former lead singer of the Unicorns, Wednesday, January 6th, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his wife Peggy, daughters Brenda and Leona, sons Damien, Kevin, Enda, Kieran and Barry, grandchildren Shannon, Jamie, Sarah, Ciara, Lucy and Emily, uncle Packie, aunt Kathleen, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Brendan’s funeral cortège will travel from Wards Funeral Home, Ballybay on Friday morning at 10:40 am, proceeding on foot to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballybay for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Due to the continued restrictions on public gatherings, Brendan’s funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of his family (limited to 10) and house strictly private, please. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to the Irish Heart Foundation c/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box.
