Christy Hetherton

Cloughbally Lower, Mullagh, Cavan / Meath

The death has occurred of Christy Hetherton, Cloughbally Lower, Mullagh, Co Cavan.

on May 16th, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Cavan General Hospital.

Pre-deceased by his wife Eileen and brothers Jodie, Tommy and James.

Sadly missed by his children Kevin (Jasminka), Maura (Peter) and Aileen, his adored grandchildren Leigh, Dearbhla, James, Christopher, Euan, Evie, Lily and Sophia, brothers Patsy and John, sisters Mona, Ann and Rosie, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieboro Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Friday, the 17th May, from 5pm to 8pm.

Reposing thereafter at his home.

Removal from his home on Saturday, the 18th May, to arrive at St. Kilian's Church, Mullagh for funeral Mass at 10am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please.

The family would like to thank Virginia Primary Care Centre and Cavan General Hospital for the wonderful care shown to Christy in his last days.

Alex Montgomery

Curkish, Bailieborough, Cavan

Alex Montgomery, Curkish, Bailieborough, Co Cavan died on the 12th May 2024 suddenly in Ibiza. Predeceased by his wife Elaine.

Sadly missed by his loving daughter Miriam, brother Maxie, son-in-law John, grandchildren Finn and Ruby, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, many friends, especially his close friend Geraldine and extended family.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Friday 17th May from 5pm - 7pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Saturday 18th May at 1:45pm to arrive at Bailieborough Parish Church for Funeral Service at 2pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard.

Geraldine Smith

(née Barkey)

Pullafree, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Geraldine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and staff at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Noel. Devoted mother of John, Noeleen, Ian, Michelle, Barry and daughter in law Sarah. Loving grandmother of her most precious grand daughter Clodagh. Sadly, missed by her heartbroken family, brothers Hughie, Sean, Eddie, Noel, Philip and Patrick, sisters Margaret and Irene, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Briodys Funeral Home, The Green, Kilnaleck (A82DX59) on Friday, 17th May, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Removal from her home to St Matthew's Church, Crosskeys for funeral mass on Saturday, 18th May, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private at all times please.

Patrick (Paddy) Ward

Finglas, Dublin / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Ward, Finglas, Dublin 11, Late of Tullynacross, Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross Thursday, 16th May, peacefully in The Mater Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary Anna, brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by his beloved wife Maura, daughters Eilish and Jacinta, sons Patrick, Niall and Anthony, eleven grandchildren, daughters-in-law, Breda, Emma and Elaine, sons-in-law, Stuart and Michael, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home in Finglas on Friday from 2 pm to 8 pm. Removal from his home on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm arriving to St. Canice’s Church, Finglas for requiem mass at 2:30 pm. Burial afterwards in St. Lastra’s Cemetery, Donaghmoyne, Co. Monaghan.
