Thomas (Moss) Hetherton

The death has occurred of Thomas (Moss) Hetherton, Carrick, Eighter, Virginia, Co. Cavan at Cavan General Hospital, peacefully, following a short illness on February 1st, 2021. Predeceased by his parents John and Bridget and his brothers Brian and Jack. Beloved husband of Breege and loving father of Regina (and her partner Gordon), Donna (and her partner Martin) and Gary (Australia) and loving Papa of his adored grandsons Brodi and Jonah.

Sadly missed by his family, his sisters Eilish (Carroll), Cait (Hughes, Virginia), Bridie (Brady, Maghera) and Margaret (Cullen), his brothers Jimmy, Mickey, Liam and Mattie (Dublin), brothers in law, sisters in law, his Aunts Margaret and Ann, Uncles Bob and Brian, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, his neighbours and friends.

Remains leaving Matthew's Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11.20am, arriving at St. Bartholomew's Church, Munterconnaught, via Carrick, Eighter, for 12 o'clock Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

In compliance with current Covid 19 guidelines, the Funeral Mass will be restricted to ten family members only. People are invited to form a guard of honour, if they so wish to, along the route of the funeral cortège from Matthew's Funeral Home, Virginia, via Carrick, Eighter, to St. Bartholomew's Church, Munterconnaught, as a mark of respect. We ask all those who wish to pay their respects along the routes to acknowledge social distancing at all times.

Mary Keller ( nee Smith ), Boston, USA & formerly Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan, February 1st 2021, peacefully after a short illness.

Predeceased by her parents Bridget & Packie & her brothers Kevin, Joe & Eugene.

Deeply regretted & sadly missed by her husband Jim, sister Kathleen Lynch, brothers John, Pat, Mattie, Thomas & Eamon ( Ballyhaise ) & Brian ( Midleton ) Co. Cork, sisters in law, brother in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family & all her friends in Ireland & the USA.

Kelly (née Smith) (Blackrock, Co. Dublin and late of Mullahoran, Co. Cavan) Mae, dearly beloved wife of Padraig O’Ceallaigh, loving mother of Seán, Fiona, Padraig, Fiachra and the late Grainne. Very sadly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sister Nancy, extended family and friends.

Dominic McKenna

Drumole, Tullyco, Cootehill, Cavan

Peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Bernie (nee King), sons Colm, Liam and Fergal, daughter Sinead, brothers Patsy, JJ and Brian, sisters Lucy and Kathleen, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Removal from his home on Thursday to arrive at St. Brigid's Church, Laragh, for Funeral Mass at 12noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family home and funeral private please. Hughie McTeague

Shore Road and formerly of The Anchor Bar and Tallagh Road, Belmullet, Mayo / Corlough, Cavan

Hughie McTeague, Shore Road and formerly of the Anchor Bar and Tallagh Road, Belmullet, also formerly of Corlough, Co. Cavan peacefully at the Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar on 1st February 2021. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (née Connor) and his brother Peter (Cavan). He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, sons Robert (Javea, Spain), James (Ballydonnellan, Westport) and Conor (Aughagower, Westport), grandchildren, daughters in law Andrea Toma, Ann Scott and Stephaine Gaughan, brother James (Birmingham, England), sister Mary Kate Glynn (Birmingham, England), sister in law Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral will depart from McDonnells Funeral Home, Belmullet, on Saturday morning at 11.15a.m. via Church Road and will continue onto Shore Road where the remains will stop briefly outside the family home. The funeral will continue via Quay Street and arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Belmullet for Funeral Mass at 12 o'clock. The funeral will continue on after funeral Mass via Tallagh Road for burial in Tarmoncarra Cemetery. Live streaming of the funeral Mass will be available for viewing on McDonnell Funeral Director’s Facebook page with streaming of all the funeral service for the late Hughie McTeague available after 6 p.m. on Saturday.

In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Hughie’s funeral will be private for immediate family only. For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the town and enroute to the church, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the streets, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard.

The McTeague family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time. Memorial Mass for the soul of Hughie will be held at a later date.

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Hugh Mullally peacefully at home on the 1st February 2021, may he rest in peace. Late of 209 Finvola Park, Dungiven, Co Derry and formerly of Kilnaleck, Co Cavan. Beloved husband of the late Rosemary R.I.P and loving father of Hugh , Deirdre, Peter and the late Eileen R.I.P. Dearly loved by his grand daughter Emma, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Moira, Johnny, Martin, Charlie and the late Rosh and Peadar R.I.P.

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Betty) Smith (nee Boylan), Cranadillon, Virginia, Co. Cavan. Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on the 1st February 2021.

Beloved wife of Peter and loving mother of Michael and Olivia. Sadly missed by her daughter in law Caroline, son in law Stefan and grandchildren Ciaran and Sarah, sister Phyllis Doyle and brother Paddy Boylan, brother and sister in law, cousins and friends.

Remains leaving O’Dwyer’s Funeral Home this Wednesday, February 3rd at 10.20am for arrival at Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia for funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Funeral cortege will be traveling to chapel via her residence at Cranadillon, Virginia and people are invited to form a guard of honour along the route.

The death has occurred of Alan Kent, Drumgoan, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, formally An Post, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence, Monday 1st February 2021. Predeceased by parents Elizabeth & Jim, brother Jim, sister Lil (London) and great-granddaughter Ella Maya. Sadly missed and remembered with love by wife Philomena, sons Anthony, Paul, Damian, daughters-in-law Michelle, Tanya and Anita, grandchildren Shane, Lauren, Arron, Travis, Shauna, Killian and Lee, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and in respect of Government Guidelines for Level 5, there will be no public wake as Alan’s funeral and burial will be celebrated privately by his family (limited to 10).

There will be an opportunity for neighbours and friends to pay their respects on Wednesday morning by lining the route to St. Joseph’s in a socially distanced manner as Alan’s funeral cortège travels on foot from ‘The Bridge’ to arrive at St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carrickmacross.

MacCormack, Geraldine (nee Kierans), Corracloughan House, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Fermanagh House, Clones. Monday 1st February 2021, suddenly at her residence. Predeceased by her husband Marcartan and her brother Felix. Greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Kieran, Barry, Paul, Marita and Nessa, daughters in law Brid, Dav, and Regina, sons in law Paul and Kieran, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, her good friend Mary McArdle and extended family and friends.

Due to the continued restrictions on public gatherings, Geraldine's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of her family only (restricted to 10). Geraldine’s funeral cortege will travel from her home on Thursday morning, leaving at 10.30am, proceeding by foot to St Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for Requiem mass at 11.00am, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The community of neighbours and friends are welcome to pay their final tribute to Geraldine by lining the route in a socially distanced manner as her remains are brought from her residence at Corracloughan House to St Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for 11.00am Requiem mass on Thursday, 4th February 2021.

The death has occurred of Hughie Marron, Clontrain, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, 2nd February, 2021. Predeceased by his wife Betty. Deeply regretted by his daughters Irene and Carol and his sons Peter and Dermot. Sadly missed by his sisters Mai Costello, Sheila Duffy and Annie Elliott, grandchildren Darren, Dean, Gary, Christopher, Lilly, Emma, Brian and Ava, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The cortège will then travel to St Peter and Paul’s cemetery, Lower Magheracloone for burial following Hughie’s funeral mass, via his family home at Clontrain, from 12.45 pm approximately.

Friends and neighbours are very welcome to line that route in a safe and socially distanced manner as a mark of respect.

Padraig McGinn (Retired School Principal) Ballynamoney, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leitrim and formerly Castleblaney, Co.Monaghan and Dundalk, Co.Louth. January 31st 2021 at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Angela, sisters Fidelma, Nuala and Maura, brothers Niall and Macartan. Died 31st January 2021 peacefully at Collegelands Nursing Home, formerly of Castle Lane Ardglass and Clontibret, Co Monaghan.

Dearly beloved wife of the late Gerry and loving mother of Erina, Sean and Michael. Cherished grandmother of Shannagh, Caolian, Laura, Thomas, India and Chloe. Much loved sister of Rosaleen, Francis, Sean and Claire (Mulholland).
