Father Jimmy Earley, PP Christ the King Catholic Parish, Alfreton, Derbyshire, England and formerly of Drumbee, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. Sunday, 21st of March 2021, peacefully at Nottingham Hospital. Sadly missed by John, Margie, The Mullally families and The Reilly family, Drumbee.

Following repatriation, Requiem Mass and burial will take place on Wednesday, April 14th. Removal from Briody's Funeral Home at 10.30am to St. Mary's Church, Crosserlough (via Drumbee) arriving at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Livestream link will be posted here.

Bernard Galligan, Denbawn, Carrickaboy, Cavan

Bernard Galligan, London and late of Denbawn, Carrickaboy, Cavan; Wednesday January 6th, peacefully in London. Sadly missed by his loving wife Molly, daughter Mary Teresa and sister Rita Reilly (Alackan). Pre-deceased by his sister Mary Halligan, brothers Tommy, Andy, Johnny (London) and Mathias, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Due to current restrictions, a private family funeral Mass will be held in St. Paul the Apostle RC Church, Wood Green, London at 12.30pm Thursday, 8th April 2021, with burial afterwards in Southgate Cemetery, London.

Rev Canon Sydney Laing, Clondalkin, Dublin / Ballyconnell, Cavan

William Sydney Laing, (Rev. Canon), (Clondalkin, Dublin and Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan), 7th April 2021, peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Maguire Ward, Tallaght University Hospital. Predeceased on 28th August 2020 by his wife and soulmate Lily. Wonderful father and best friend of Zandra and Hilary who cherished his sense of humour, wise counsel, generosity and his unfailing love. Sydney will be greatly missed by his sons-in-law Andrew (Giles) and Denis (Duggan), his grandchildren, Ingrid and Robert, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Special thanks to Comfort Keepers and Greenpark Pharmacy who helped us to look after Sydney in the home he loved. Grateful and heartfelt thanks also to our friends, the clergy, who willingly and without asking, provided pastoral support and a great source of comfort over the years, Dean William Morton, the late Dean Victor Stacey, Canon Cecil Mills, Dean Niall Sloane and Chaplain Patrick Ryan. Thanks also to the many people who kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We trust Sydney is now reunited with his beloved Lily and we look forward to meeting them again in heaven.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Niall Cawley, Mullaghmatt, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Niall Cawley, 12 Mullaghmatt, Monaghan, Co Monaghan, Friday, April 9th, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Niall deeply regretted and remembered with love by his heart broken parents John and Teresa, his brothers and sisters John, Declan, Gary, Tracy, Margaret, Christine, Bernard, Darren, Gregory and their partners, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

May Niall’s Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace Niall’s funeral cortège will travel from his home,12 Mullaghmatt (driving)on Monday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Macartan’s Cathedral Monaghan, for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the Latlurcan Cemetery Monaghan. Peggy McMahon (née McMeel) Killycooley, Emyvale, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Peggy McMahon (nee McMeel), Killycooley, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan. Friday, 9th April, peacefully at the Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.

Pre-deceased by her daughter Deborah. Sadly missed by her loving husband Joe, sons Dermot & George, daughter Liz, brothers Paddy & Seamus, sister Suzie, daughters in law Norma & Mary and sons in law Brian & John. Deeply missed by her grandsons Daniel, Nicholas, Dean, Jordan, Ronan & Ryan.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Peggy's remains will repose at McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale on Saturday from 4pm to 7pm (please adhere to social distancing guidelines). Peggy's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11am in St.Mary's Church, Glennan, burial afterwards in Drumbannagher Cemetery.

Due to current restrictions, Peggy's house, funeral and burial will be private.
