Peter Burns, 6 Árd na Gréine & 13 Owen Roe Terrace, Cavan Town, Wednesday, April 28th 2021, peacefully in the loving care of his family & the staff on St Vincent's Ward at the Mater Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parent's Bridget & Michael, his sister Kathleen & his brother Michael. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his wife Angela, daughters Sylvia, Shirleen & Alison, son Peter, sons-in-law Gareth & Robbie, daughter-in-law Sabrina, his adored grandchildren, Kelsey, Caylem, Carla, Cillian, Oisín & Willow, his sisters Teresa, Bridget-Ann, Mary & Liz, his brother John, his sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, all his relatives & many, many friends.

Due to current restrictions Peter's Funeral Mass & burial will be private to family only. Those who would like to send their condolences to the family are asked to do so in the section at the bottom of this page. Peter's Funeral cortege will leave his home in Árd na Gréine on Monday morning at 10.30am, travelling via John Paul Ave., St Martin's & the Broad Road, to arrive at the cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, Cavan for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Cullies Cemetery. Anyone standing along the route are more than welcome & are asked to observe social distancing guidelines & keep safe. The Burns family would like to thank you for your cooperation & understanding at this difficult time. Anne Caffrey (née Ryan)

Cormaddyduff, Virginia, Cavan / Drombane, Tipperary

The death has occurred, peacefully, of Anne Caffrey, Cormaddyduff, Virginia, Co. Cavan and formerly Drombane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, peacefully, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Much loved wife of Colm and treasured mother to Patrick, Karen, John and Helen. Deeply regretted by her loving husband, sons and daughters, her sisters May Fitzsimons (Ballyjamesduff), Nonie O'Leary (Wexford), Kathleen Devaney (Sligo), her brothers Sonny (Tipperary) and Ned (Dublin), her daughters in law Stephanie and Aine, sons in law John and Daragh, her adored grandchildren Amy, Evan, Rachel, Cara, Ellen, Kate, Jack, James, Emer, Emma, Alex, Oisin and Lily, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Remains reposing at Matthews' Funeral Home on Friday from 4 o'clock until 7 o'clock for family and friends.

Funeral cortège leaving Lakelands Crematorium on Saturday morning, via Dunancory Bridge and Cormaddyduff, to arrive at St. Mary's Church , Castlerahan, for Funeral Mass at 12 o'clock. Burial of ashes in the adjoining cemetery.

In compliance with Covid 19 regulations, Anne's Funeral Mass will be restricted to family members only. People are invited to form a guard of honour if they so wish to, along the route of the Funeral cortège to the church as a mark of respect. Family flowers only, please. Noel Galligan, Halifax, West Yorkshire and 30 Killymooney Drive, Cavan Town. Beloved son of Eva and Sean. April 14th 2021. Noel will be very sadly missed by his daughter Alanna, son London, his heartbroken parents, his Twin brother Nicky, brothers Alan and Jamie, sisters Joanna, Tracey and Gemma, nieces, nephews, all his family circle and many friends.

Due to current restrictions, Noel’s Reposing, Funeral and Cremation will be private to Family with Mass restricted to 25 people. Noel’s Funeral will leave the Family Home on Sunday at 11.40am to arrive at the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan for Funeral Mass at 12noon. Mass will be followed by cremation.

All of you who would like to pay your final respects to Noel along the route are asked to maintain a distance of 2 metres apart, keeping everyone safe and ensuring your presence can be noted by the Family. The Family would like to thank you all for your co-operation and understanding at this difficult time.

Owen Glancy, Clonegonnell, Cavan. Thursday, April 29th 2021, peacefully in the loving care of his Family and the staff at St. Josephs, Lisdarn, Cavan. Predeceased by his parents James and Mary and his brothers, Tom, Jim, Ned, Pat, Philip, Peter, Vincent and Terence. Owen will be sadly missed by his brother Bernard (Brian) his sisters in law, nephews, nieces, all his relatives and many friends.

Removal from the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan tomorrow, Friday, at 12.40pm to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Following Mass, Funeral will travel to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Castletara for committal service and burial.

Due to current restrictions, Owen’s Funeral Mass and burial will be private to Family with Mass confined to 25 people. People standing along the route to pay their respects to Owen are asked to be mindful of social distancing and keep safe.

Mattie Keogh Rathcorrick, Cavan, peacefully at the Breffni Care Centre, Ballyconnell, Cavan, Wednesday, 28th April. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Katie, his sister Susan, brothers Packie and Benny. Sadly, missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Funeral Mass in The Cathedral of Ss Patrick and Felim, Cavan, on Saturday at 11am, with interment afterwards in St Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry, Cavan.

Due to current government and HSE guidelines, Mattie's funeral will be private to family only. For those who are standing along the funeral procession please adhere to social distancing guidelines

Bridget (Bridie) McGourty (née McPartlin)

Tullinerin, Dowra, Cavan

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) McGourty, nee McPartlin, Tullinerin, Dowra, peacefully at Sligo Hospice.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Charlie and her parents John and Catherine, her sister Kathleen and her brother John.

Bridie will be sadly missed by her family - sisters-in-law Dot and Frances, nieces, nephews, grand nieces/nephews and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who helped Bridie in her last months, particularly her carers and the staff at Sligo General Hospital

Removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Doobally, Dowra at 8.30pm on Saturday. Funeral mass at 11.30am on Sunday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House is strictly private. Anyone wishing to convey their sympathy can do so along the route from Bridie's home to Doobally Church and in Doobally church car park keeping a 2m distance. In Compliance with Government & HSE guidelines regarding funerals, funeral mass is limited to 25 persons in church, while also requesting strict adherence to Social distancing in vicinity of Church and cemetery.

Bart MCKIERNAN

Donnycarney, Dublin / Kilcogy, Cavan

MCKIERNAN Bart (late of Donnycarney, Dublin 9, formerly of Kilcogy, Co. Cavan), passed peacefully at Cara Care Centre, Santry on April 28th 2021. Beloved husband of the late Rita; very sadly missed by his children Louise and Brian, grandchildren James and Stacey, great granddaughter Bella, sister Brid, brother Michael, and all extended family and friends.

Tom Ryan, Drumglen Drive, Swellan, formerly Ashbourne, Co Meath. Ex-Garda Siochana. Who died peacefully on 28th April 2021, after a short illness. Devoted husband of Mary and loving father of Eimear and Padraig. Deeply regretted by son-in-law Gerard, daughter-in-law Sarah, grandchildren Aoibhe, Grainne, Caoimhe, Meabh and Tiernan. Relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Friday evening. Removal on Saturday to arrive at The Cathedral St. Patrick and Felim, Cavan, for funeral Mass at 1pm, travelling via Barrick Hill. Burial afterwards in Killygarry Cemetery.

Moira Toal (née Burns)

Annamartin, Smithboro, Monaghan

Predeceased by her husband Tommy, sister Kathleen (Murphy) and brother Eamonn Burns. Moira passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Moira will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughters Rosemarie (Seamus Mulligan), and Eileen (Enda McCloskey), sons Paddy, Frank (Ann), Brendan (Geraldine), Peter (Lavina), Macartan (Philomena), sisters Rosaleen (Brogan, Analore), Eileen (Fidler, Isle Of Man), Annie(Burns, Dublin), and brother Brendan(Lurganboy), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved her.

Moira's Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, 1st May, at 12 noon in St. Mary's Chapel, Magherarney. (Leaving the family residence 11.15am) Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private please. Due to COVID19 government restrictions, the mass and burial will be private to family and restricted to 25 people. For those who wish to pay their respects, please adhere to HSE guidelines and maintain 2m social distance.
