The official opening of Castleblayney Fire Station took place today. The new fully equipped station brings a professional, modern and enhanced approach to fire fighting in the region.

Speaking at the opening of the facility Fianna Fáil Deputy, Niamh Smyth, welcomed the inauguration: “I was delighted to see my party colleague and Minister for Housing Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, officially open the premises bringing a long awaited and four year project to a conclusion.

“God forbid, but in the event of any fire in Castleblayney or the surrounding areas, residents can feel ultra-secure knowing this excellent facility is fully equipped with a full fleet of fire fighting vehicles and exceptional staff,’’ concluded Deputy Smyth.
