It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Eamonn Boylan

Navan, Meath / Dublin / Cavan

The death has occurred of Eamonn Boylan, Navan, Co. Meath and formerly Clonliffe Road, Dublin and Clonoose, Cavan. Peacefully, in the care of the staff at The Mater Hospital, after a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his son Eugene, parents Eugene and Margaret. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife Mena, daughter Margaret, sons Eamonn and David, grandchildren Abigail, Charlie, Ava and Fiadh, son in law Mark, daughter in law Niamh, sisters Rose and Mary, brothers in law, sisters in law, niece Michelle, nephews Willie, Alan and John, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Ethna and her family for their love and care for Eamonn. Special mention for his two great pals, Mark Stokes and Liamo.

May Eamonn Rest In Peace.

Eamonn's cortege will leave his residence on Friday at 12.15 o clock to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan arriving at 1.30 (max 50 people).

In line with Government / HSE advice, social distancing to be observed at all times.

Roisin Corrigan Short

Foxfield House, Kilnaleck, Cavan

Roisin Corrigan Short, Foxfield House, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. Thursday June 10th (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home Cavan. Sadly missed by her beloved Richard, sister's; Eilis, Fionnuala and Siobhan, brothers; Eugene and Sean, nieces, nephews, Goddaughter Sive, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Rest In Peace.

Removal from her late residence on Saturday morning to St. Mary's Church, Ballinarry arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the ISPCA c/o Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck or any family member. House private to family members and friends. In line with current guidelines, the Funeral Mass will be limited to 50 people.

Shane Dempsey

Drumalee, Cavan Town, Cavan / Rockcorry, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Shane Dempsey, Drumalee, Cavan & formerly Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan, Thursday, June 10th, 2021, peacefully in the loving care of his family & the exceptional staff in Surgical 1 at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Dora (nee Caffrey) & brother of the late Paddy. Much loved father of Angela, Pauric, Adrian & Siobhan. Sadly missed by his sons-in-law Paddy Keavney & Darren Morgan & daughters-in-law Natalie Clarke & Catherine Leddy. Adored "Gaga" to Lauren, Rachel, Lucy, Dara, Naoise, Clodagh, Cormac, Tara, Emma & Carla. Also missed by all extended members of the Dempsey & Caffrey families especially nephews John & Robert Dempsey & cousin Marie Coyle, all his good neighbours & many friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd., Cavan on Friday from 4.30pm concluding with prayers at 6.30. Those who would like to do so can leave their condolences in the section below . Shane's funeral cortege will leave the family home in Drumalee on Saturday at 2.40pm to travel to the Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim Cavan for Funeral Mass at 3pm. Burial will take place afterwards in Killygarry Cemetery. Those standing along the route are asked to observe social distancing please. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Killygarry Graveyard Upkeep Fund, c/o Mc mahon Funeral Directors, Farnham Rd., Cavan or any family member.

Cashel, Dowra, Cavan / Drumcondra, Dublin / Ballinaglera, Leitrim

Liam Dunne, Dowra Co. Cavan and formerly Drumcondra, Dublin. Peacefully at the North West Hospice. Predeceased by his parents and brother Robert. Deeply regretted by Winnie, and his sons Paul, Liam, and Alan, daughter in law Johanne, grandchildren Rosie, Grace, and Ciarán, his brothers Joseph and Frank, sister Barbara, sister in laws, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th June for family, neighbours and closes friends.

Funeral Mass at 1.30pm Sunday 13th June 2021 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Doobally, Dowra, Co. Cavan. Burial afterwards at in Graveyard at St. Hugh's Church, Ballinaglera.

John Edward REA

Fivemiletown, Tyrone / Ballyconnell, Cavan

John Edward REA, Fivemiletown, Co. Tyrone and formerly of Kildallon, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, Wednesday, 9th June, peacefully, in Omagh Palliative Care Unit after a long illness bravely borne. Very sadly missed by all the family.

Funeral cortege travelling via Belturbet, Ardlougher and the family home arriving at Kildallon Parish Church on Friday at 1pm for funeral service followed by private family cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan afterwards.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Omagh Palliative Care Unit for their gold standard care of John and his family in his final weeks and days.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers would be much appreciated to Omagh Palliative Care Unit c/o Clive Magee Funeral Directors or any family member.

Due to current guidelines the funeral service will be limited to fifty family members and close friends in the church please.

Patrick Joseph (Joe) Duffy

The death has occurred of Patrick Joseph Duffy, known as Joe, No. 7 Alders, Ballybay, and formerly Lakeview Terrace, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, Thursday, June 10th, peacefully, at his residence. Predeceased by his wife Pauline. Joe, deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his son Mark (Norway), brothers Peter and Talbot, his good friend Teresa, Pauline’s children Tina, David and Paul, his nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Ward's Funeral Home Ballybay tomorrow evening, Friday, among family and friends from 5pm until 7pm. Joe’s Funeral cortège will travel from Ward's Funeral home, on Saturday morning at 11:40am proceeding on foot to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballybay, for funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Due to the current restrictions on numbers at funeral ceremonies, Joe’s funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of his family.

St. Louis Convent, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by St. Louis Community, Monaghan and all who knew her.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions the convent will be strictly private.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan on Saturday 12th June at 11 a.m., subject to social distancing and Covid 19 restrictions.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Latlurcan.
