John passed away peacefully in the loving care of his family and nursing staff at Lisdarn Unit Cavan.

Fr. Edward BRADY

Cypress Grove House, Templeogue, Dublin / Cavan

BRADY, Fr. Edward, M.Afr, 11th July 2021 (Cypress Grove House, Templeogue, Dublin and formerly of Coratubber, Castletara, Co. Cavan and Tanzania) former town clerk of Cavan. Fr Eddie passed away peacefully in the care of the staff and community of Mount Sackville Nursing Home, Chapelizod, Dublin 20. Deeply regretted by his sister, Liz Rehill, nieces, nephews, family, friends and by his Missionary of Africa (White Father) confrères.

May he Rest in Peace.

In accordance with current Government and HSE guidelines a private funeral will take place for family and close friends. Funeral Mass will be streamed live from St. Patrick’s Church, Castletara, Co. Cavan on Thursday, 15th July, at 12 noon and can be viewed on: (LINK to follow) followed by burial in local cemetery.

Fionnuala Doherty (née Hutton)

18 Cathedral View, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved wife of Terence and treasured mother of Áine (Jon), Peter (Brenda) and Bronagh (Tim). Sadly missed by her beloved grandchildren Niamh, Daniel, Anna, Caoimhe and Ciaran, relatives and friends.

Michael McCabe

Lisacullion, Shantonagh, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Michael McCabe, Lisacullion, Shantonagh, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, unexpectedly at his residence, Friday, 9th July, 2021. Predeceased by his parents Mick and Katie McCabe. Michael is survived by his loving family, his wife Margaret, sons Denis and Kevin, daughters Claire, Mairéad and Maria, sister Ann Gilmartin, brothers Francie and Owen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Michael will repose at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross (A81 C653) on Tuesday afternoon (13th July) from 5pm to 8pm.

In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and in respect for Government Guidelines, there will be no public wake outside of these times.

House Strictly Private at all times to family only.

There will be an opportunity for neighbours and friends to pay their respects on Thursday (15th July) as Michael’s funeral cortège will leave his late residence via Corrinenty Cross and Bogtown Cross to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Corduff, for Requiem Mass at 1pm, which will be celebrated privately by his family (limited to 50). Burial afterwards in adjoining new cemetery.

May Tracey (née Cassidy)

Tullyree, Glaslough, Monaghan

The death has occurred of May Tracey, nee Cassidy, Tullyree, Glaslough, Co. Monaghan, Sunday 11th July, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her husband Malachi, father Paddy, mother Lizzie and sister Cecelia. Devoted mother to Matthew, Mark, David, Malachi & Spencer. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Rebecca, Matthew, Vicky, Jessica, Callum, Riona, Ceri, Lily-Mae, Harriet, Kyle, Madisen & Gabriella, 10 great-grandchildren, her brothers Paudge, Hubert, Tom & Noel, sisters Bridget, Vera & Ann, extended family, friends and her Bowls family.

Due to current restrictions, May's house will be private to family & friends only. If you wish to pay your respects to the family, you are welcome to do so as May's funeral cortège travels to the church on Wednesday morning via Emyvale (please adhere to social distancing guidelines).

Philip Traynor

New York and formerly of 46 St. Macartan's Villas, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Philip Traynor, (All Boro Floor Services) New York and formerly of 46 St. Macartans Villas, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, suddenly in New York Saturday 10th July 2021. Predeceased by his parents Eugene and Kathleen and his brother Pat. Devoted father to Courtney, Ryan, Grainne and Ciara. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken children, brother Martin, sister Mary (Kirk), brother-in-law Pearse, sister-in-law Maureen, nephew David, cousins, extended family, and his many friends in both Monaghan and New York, especially the wider GAA community.

Philip’s Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday at 10am (3pm Irish Time) in St. Aedan’s Church, Pearl River, New York. Burial afterwards in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, New York. (Webcam link to follow).

Philip’s Months Memory Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross in August in the presence of family with a time to be finalised at a later date.
