Major drug seizure on Cavan-Meath border

Along with the plants being seized, so too were 20 vacuum packed bags of cannabis herb.

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €560,000 has been found after gardaí raided a house at Kilmainhamwood, Co. Meath.

Gardaí attached to the Navan Garda station and assisted by a number of local members carried out a search operation at approximately 8.30am on Monday morning last, August 2.

During the course of a search and execution of a search warrant under Section 26 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977/84, a grow house was located in a shed beside the house.

The shed contained a total of 76 cannabis plants, described by gardaí as being "at an advanced state of growth".

Along with the plants being seized, so too were 20 vacuum packed bags of cannabis herb.

During the course of the search of the adjoining house meanwhile, a further 36 vacuum packed bags of cannabis herb were also located.

The estimated street value of the seizure is €560,000 subject to analysis. "The drugs will now be sent for analysis," the spokesperson added.

No arrests were made during the course of the search.
