Eight H1s for Bart

A Cavan student has achieved one of the best Leaving Certs in the country with eight H1s in his Leaving Cert results today.

Bart Sola, a student at St Bricin's College in Belturbet, was among 800 plus pupils from the Breffni county to get their results today.

There was great joy at the Belturbet school this morning as the results were handed out to students by the new principal, David McCague.

Top of the class of 2021 was Bart Sola.

Thrilled with his results, Bart hopes to study Aeronautical Engineering in the University of Limerick (UL) and also wants to get his pilot's licence.

“I was not expecting that amount of points. I studied here in St Bricin's for the past six years and I made a whole new community of friends and the teachers were excellent,” said Bart, who came to the area to live from Poland.

He was thankful to the teachers in St Bricin's and said he would like to see the school revamped with a new campus for the education of future generations.

“It would be good for the community at large. If you put the work in to your study here, there is no problem achieving your grades,” said Bart.
