Social distancing to end in Northern Ireland

But it remains for the hospitality sector.

Social distancing will no longer be a requirement in some indoor settings in Northern Ireland after a decision by Ministers.

The Stormont Executive met virtually last night to discuss the measures.

The decision will see the removal of the one-metre distance requirement for the retail sector, indoor attractions and seated indoor venues.

The measures are to take effect from 6pm on Thursday (September 30).

However, the change will not impact on the hospitality sector, a decision that has drawn criticism from interest groups.

Instead, further consideration is to be given to hospitality on October 7.
