Today's weather forecast

It appears that today will be another mixed bag with Met Eireann touching all bases. Bright and breezy today with sunny spells. But scattered showers in the west this morning will spread to all areas through the afternoon and into this evening. Some of the showers will be heavy, with the chance of isolated thunderstorms, especially across western counties. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees, mildest and brightest in the east, with moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds.

Scattered showers will continue tonight, especially over the western half of the country. Becoming mostly dry in the east with good clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees in moderate southwest winds, remaining fresh to strong on coasts.

A lot of dry and bright weather on Bank Holiday Monday. There will be scattered showers too, most of these over the western half of the country, remaining largely dry further east. The showers will be lighter and less frequent than on Sunday. But it will feel a little cooler, with highs of just 10 to 13 degrees in a moderate westerly breeze.
