It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Phyllis Fealy (née McMahon)

San Francisco / 34 Carrickfern, Cavan / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Phyllis Fealy (nee McMahon) 34 Carrickfern, Cavan, Carrickmacross and San Francisco, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital on the 21st November, 2021, in the loving care of family members. Predeceased by her husband Eamon. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her sisters Joan Clarke, Dublin and Philomena Meegan, Cavan, brothers in law, Hugh and Peter Fealy, nieces, nephews, extended family, relations, friends, neighbours, carers and staff at College View Nursing Home and Cavan General Hospital.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Her remains will be reposing at her home in Carrickfern on Tuesday from 3pm until 8pm, for family and relations. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11.30am in the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan. Interment afterwards in Killanny Cemetery, Carrickmacross. Nora Flynn (née Fitzpatrick)

Corrabeeher, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim, N41 V291 / Cavan

formerly Ballyhaise/Arden, Co. Cavan.

Peacefully in the loving care of her family and staff of Ballinamore Community Nursing Unit.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, loving parents, brothers and sister.

Nora will be sadly missed by her sons Micheal, Damien and Terry,

her daughters -in- law, grandchildren, nephew, niece, sister-in-law, extended family, friends and neighbours.

May Nora Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home in Corrabreeher, Aughnasheelin on Tuesday 23rd November from 3.00pm to 8.00pm.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday in St. Mary’s Church, Aughnasheelin at 11.00am.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

David Mackey

Drumaughra House, Cavan and Letterkenny Co. Donegal, Cavan Town, Cavan

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the loss of David (Deace) Mackey, of Drumaughra House, Cavan and Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. Passed away peacefully on Monday November 22nd 2021 surrounded by his loving family in the care of the wonderful staff at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin following a very short illness, so bravely fought. Beloved husband and soulmate of Marian O’Donovan-Mackey and devoted father to Catherine, David and Edward. Sadly missed by his son in law Colin, his daughter-in-law Michelle and Edward’s partner Ann-Jean, his brothers Martin, Philip and Barry, sister Caroline, sisters-in-law and his many, many friends. David’s devotion to his work,his unwavering zest for life and his kindness and generosity will be remembered forever.

May he rest in peace.

David will repose at his home on Tuesday evening from 4pm to 7pm and again on Wednesday from 5pm until 8pm.

Removal from his home on Thursday afternoon at 12.30 to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan arriving for Funeral Mass at 1 O’Clock via Dublin Road, College St and Farnham St. Following Mass the cortege will travel to St. Brigid’s cemetery, Killygarry for committal prayers and burial.

Government and HSE guidelines must be adhered to with mask wearing and no hand shaking. .Please use the condolence book at the end of this page for your messages to the Family.

IRIS WARREN (née KELLS)

Sandymount, Dublin / Cavan / Tipperary

WARREN – Iris (née Kells) (Sandymount, Dublin and formerly of Cavan and Tipperary) 21st November 2021 (peacefully) after an illness bravely borne in the kind and gentle care of the wonderful staff in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross.

Beloved wife of the late Stanley and cherished mum of Clive, Alma and the late Elaine.

Iris will be sadly missed and remembered with laughter and love by her son Clive, daughter Alma, wonderful grandsons Scott, Crosby and Denver, loving daughter-in-law Liz, Alma’s caring partner Ken, sister Ethel, cousins Jim, Herbie and Jean, nieces, nephews, family friend Triona and her many kind and supportive neighbours and friends in Cavan and Sandymount whose help and kindness was always appreciated, especially during these difficult months.

Clive and Alma would like to specially thank the fantastic staff of Blackrock Community Palliative Care for their wonderful support at all times and also to thank Professor Karen Cadoo and Michelle of St. James hospital. Your kindness and care will always be so appreciated.

May her gentle soul now Rest in Peace.

Margaret Johnston (née McQuaid)

Loughmourne, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Margaret Johnston née McQuaid, Loughmourne, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully in the tender care of the staff in St. Mary’s Hospital, Castleblayney, surrounded by her loving family, Monday 22nd November 2021.

Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Teresa, her brothers Pat and Joseph.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by her husband Danny, daughter, Caroline, son, Ian, grandchildren, Dean, Ryan, Luke and Rebeca, daughter-in-law, Rosemary, Caroline’s partner Fernando, sister, Teresa (McGuirk), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Margaret's home is strictly private.

Kathleen O'Neill (née McGahey)

Leopardstown, Dublin / Ballybay, Monaghan

O’Neill, (née McGahey) (Leopardstown, Dublin and formerly of Ballybay, Co. Monaghan) – November 21st, 2021 (peacefully) at home, Kathleen, Beloved wife of the late Maurice F.O’Neill, much-loved mother of Shane, Maurice and Catherine. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, brother, sister, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

May she Rest in Peace.

Kathleen will repose at her residence on Wednesday evening (November 24th) from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning (November 25th) to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock arriving for 10:00am Mass, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

The family would particularly like to thank the team of exceptionally kind people who made it possible for Kathleen to stay at home throughout her illness. They sincerely like to thank Ilona and all the carers, her G.P. and the Public Health Nurses from the Community Unit at Blackrock Hospice.
