Gardaí investigate latest theft of telephone wire

A number of incidents have been reported locally.

Carrickmacross Gardai are investigating yet another theft of Eir cable.

This time cable was stolen from telephone poles in the Drumboat area of Inniskeen.

The theft is believed to have occurred between 12am and 3am on Monday, December 21.

The last theft occurred in November, when wire was stolen from a location on the Killanny Road out of Carrickmacross in the townland of Monaltyduff, close to the junction with the N2.

Prior to that wire was taken over the Halloween weekend in the townland of Leeg.

Thieves last took cables from the area of Lisduff, Ballybay on Sunday, September 19, and before that again in June-July, when copper wire was stolen in the townlands of Aughrim More, Donaghmoyne and Mullaghrafferty and Moylough in Magheracloone.
