One of Ireland’s finest theatre talents, Mikel Murfi, comes to Town Hall Cavan on 11th and 12th February.

Town Hall spring line-up is the Bee’s knees

Town Hall Cavan has an exciting and varied line-up of theatre, music, and comedy lined up for spring 2022 to help shake off the winter blues.

On 11th and 12th February at 8pm, internationally acclaimed actor, writer and director Mikel Murfi visits with a double-header of two of his best-known works, ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’ and its follow-up, ‘I Hear You and Rejoice’, presented by Loco and Reckless Productions. Murfi is a tour de force, bringing more life to the stage in his one-man shows, than entire ensembles can muster, prompting The Times to gush, “… Mikel Murfi holds you close, makes you listen as he weaves a storyteller’s spell”.

‘Wires, Strings & Other Things’ is a new music show for ages 6+ composed by Brian Irvine and directed by Wouter Van Looy, which encourages its audience to always be curious; to listen, respond to and communicate through the sounds, music and stories that are all around you – wherever you are and whoever you are with. It comes to Town Hall Cavan on Tuesday, 15 February at 11am and 1pm.

On Friday, 18th February, Beezneez presents the world premiere of John McDwyer’s new play, ‘Twilight’. Containing McDwyer’s trademark humour, the play is a fascinating exposition of how life choices bring their own consequences, and features transcendent performances from All-Ireland Award-winning actors, McDwyer and Tom Walsh.

Following a sell-out run at Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre in October 2021, Norma Sheahan, one of Ireland’s leading dramatic actors, breathes new life into Willy Russell’s effervescent and iconic character ‘Shirley Valentine’ in this hit musical, which comes to Town Hall Cavan on 26th February at 8pm.
