Locals nominated in this year's Irish Pharmacy Awards

A number of local pharmacies have been nominated in this year's Irish Pharmacy Awards.

Run by the Irish Pharmacy News, the awards seeks to recognise some of the most dedicated pharmacists and teams serving the public health across the country.

Kathleen Donnelly, Foster’s Pharmacy, Arva, has been nominated in the category for Counter Assistant of the Year; Nuala McConnon, Callans Pharmacy, Kingscourt, is in line for Community Pharmacy Technician of the Year; while McDaid Pharmacy, Cavan and Manor Chemist, Manorhamilton, are both in the running for the Community Pharmacy Team of the Year Award.

A number of pharmacy groups, many of which have outlets across the county, have also been nominated in various categories including Boots, McCabes Group, CarePlus Pharmacy Group and the totalhealth Pharmacy Group.

A spokesperson for Irish Pharmacy News said: "Over 300 entries were received for the 2022 Irish Pharmacy Awards from some of the most accomplished and dedicated pharmacists and pharmacy teams across Ireland. The volume of entries made the shortlisting process incredibly difficult for our esteemed panel of judges." The winners will be announced at the awards on Saturday, May 21, on what promises to be an unforgettable night, as we welcome our guests back for the first time since 2019.

"The Irish Pharmacy Awards is the biggest night in the Irish community pharmacy calendar, recognising the dedication of all pharmacy teams, the heart of every community across Ireland," said the spokesperson.
