It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

John (Sean) Gilmartin

Kilmore Willows, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Formerly Ballyfermot, Lower Kimmage Road and Corfu, Greece.

& Defence Forces, Dept. P&T Distillery Road,Eircom, An Post/ SDS.

John died peacefully on June 20th, after a long illness borne with great dignity and courage in the tender and wonderful care of his beloved wife Val, brother in law Alan and his wife Fran and his adored niece Aisling.

Predeceased by his parents Shay and May and his sister Joan.

John is sorely missed by his devoted and heartbroken wife Val, his brother Shay, his brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grandnephews and his many friends at home and in Corfu.

Rest In Eternal Peace.

Remains reposing at home in Kilmore Willows on Wednesday from 5 o'clock until 8 o'clock. Removal on Thursday afternoon to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan arriving for 4 o'clock. House private to family please on Thursday morning.

Val would like to acknowledge the wonderful care, attention and support received by John during his illness from the doctors and nurses in the Beaumont, Mater and Cavan Hospitals, the wonderful Cavan/Monaghan Palliative service, Public Health Nurses and Dr. Rukshan. Val would also like to acknowledge her gratitude for the welcome to Kilmore Willows and for the care and love received by John from all there.

Pat Corrigan

Corratanty, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Pat Corrigan, Corratanty, Castleblayney and formerly of Belfast and Coventry, peacefully, after a long illness, in the presence of his family. Sunday 19th of June 2022.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife, Emer (McBennett), children Nigel and Leanne, granddaughter Honor, sisters June, Sr Genevieve, Mary, Teresa and Lily, brother Joseph, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter in law, son in law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May his gentle soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

Reposing at his home in Corratanty.

House strictly private at all times please.

Removal from his home on Wednesday morning at 10:30am for funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church Castleblayney at 11am and burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.Family flowers only please with donations if desired to Palliative Care Unit Monaghan.

Anthony (Tony) DONNELLY

Coolock, Dublin / Clones, Monaghan

DONNELLY, Anthony (Tony) (Coolock, Dublin and formerly of McCurtain St, Clones, Co. Monaghan) – 18th June 2022, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of the Mater Private Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Nancy (née Macken) and devoted father to Michelle and Edel; he will be very sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren Jordan, Nathan and Evie, sons-in-law David and Karl, sisters Kathleen and Eileen, brothers Jackie and Joseph, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock, on Tuesday 21st June between 2pm and 5pm. Removal on Wednesday 22nd June to St. Joseph the Artisan Church, Bonnybrook, arriving for 10am Mass, followed by burial in Balgriffin Extension Cemetery.

Margaret Mc Cague (née Keenan)

Dunsinaire, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Margaret Mc Cague, Dunsinaira, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Coretard, Threemilehouse, Sunday 19th June. Peacefully, at the Beacon Hospital Dublin, in the care of the staff surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her brother James.

Beloved and much loved wife of Jim and adored mother of Melissa (Barry Kieran) and Sabina (Padraig Mc Govern). Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren Oliver, Darach and Conn, brothers Pete, (Threemilehouse) and John (Manchester), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and by all who knew and loved Margaret.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Margaret will be resting at the family home, Dunsinaire, Monaghan today Monday and again tomorrow Tuesday from 2pm to 9pm, with removal on Wednesday morning 22nd June at approx 10.15am to St Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Threemilehouse.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to the Crocus Support Centre, Monaghan c/o Martin's Funeral Directors, Newbliss or any family member.
