Body discovered in Cootehill

Gardaí have confirmed the discovery.

A man’s body has been discovered at an apartment in Cootehill.

Gardaí have confirmed the remains were discovered at around 9 o'clock this morning at an apartment on Market Street in the centre of the town.

Gardaí responded to the scene and a spokesperson has confirmed they are "investigating all of the circumstances" surrounding the discovery.

The body was removed from the scene at around lunchtime and taken to Cavan General Hospital.

A Garda Spokesperson says a post mortem is expected to take place "which will determine the course of the investigation".

It's not believed Gardaí are searching for anyone else in relation to the discovery.
