Two held over stabbing

Male, aged in his early 20s, was attacked with knife.

Two men have been arrested and held for questioning after a man was hospitalised following a serious stabbing incident in Bailieborough.

It occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, July 26, when a male, aged in his early 20s, was attacked with what is believed to have been a knife.

The alarm was raised and the male was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance.

Two males, also aged in their 20s, were later arrested. Both were taken to Bailieborough Garda Station. At the time of going to print on Tuesday afternoon, they continued to be detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána informed the Celt.
