Investigation into overnight road crash
Gardaí have launched an investigation into what's been described as a "serious injury traffic collision" overnight.
The crash happened on the R183 road linking Clones and Ballybay, close to the Swann's Cross roundabout with the Cootehill to Monaghan road.
A number of people are understood to have been injured in the incident which took place at around 9.30pm. Two vehicles were involved.
GSOC, the Garda Ombudsman, has since said it too is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. It's appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Gardaí too are appealing for people who may have seen a silver Volkswagen Passat.
"If you saw this vehicle in the area between the times of 8pm and 9.30pm or if you have dashcam footage that might assist the investigation Castleblayney Gardaí would like to hear from you", a Garda Spokesperson said.
