Road reopens after Killydoon accident

Injuries sustained not believed to be life threatening.

The road has reopened to traffic following a multi-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the N55 near Killydoon earlier this morning.

The accident, involving two vehicles, occurred on the Cavan side of the village, shortly after 8am.

Gardaí, ambulance services and also fire brigades were dispatched to the scene immediately after the accident was first reported.

It was initially feared that a car had been on fire.

Passengers of both vehicles have since been taken to hospital as a “precautionary measure”, The Anglo-Celt understands.

The injuries sustained by all parties involved in the crash are not believed to be life threatening.

A stop-go system was in place and has now been lifted.
