Annalee Respite Centre up to spec

Respite services for both adults and children are provided at Annalee.

There was good news for the newly reopened Annalee View Respite Centre in Cootehill which was found to be fully compliant in relation to 12 regulations inspected following a visit by Health Information and Quality Authority earlier this year.

Respite services for both adults and children are provided at Annalee. However, because adults and children cannot be facilitated together, the services are provided on alternating weeks with adults one week and children the next.

Annalee only reopened last year having been forced to close in February 2019 to rectify internal and external damage caused by an extensive oil contamination from a leak in the facility's fuel transfer line.

Before that, Annalee had shut to admissions for a period from September 2018 when dealing with two separate successive “challenging” placements.

The five bedroomed centre is run by the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Community Healthcare Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo and was inspected on July 27, 2022.

A report of the finding was published today, the outcome of which was welcomed by the HSE who said in a statement: “Twelve Regulations were inspected on the day and all twelve of the regulations inspected found to be compliant.”
