The Annual Ladies Lunch, held at Cavan’s Farnham Estate on Saturday, November 26, helped raise over €20,000 for the two worthy charities - Cuan Cancer Support and the ‘Duck Push’ for Crumlin Children's Hospital.

The event was attended by 230 ladies, and has been hosted annually at the Farnham Estate hotel since the first event in March 2017.

The last event was held in March 2020, just before lockdown, and organisers were understandably “delighted to be back” with an event in 2022.

The ladies lunch committee consists of five members - Ranjit Elliott, Una Elliott, Rosie Baker, Dorothy Clarke and Sarah Boylan.

This year's lunch chose ‘The Duck Push’, a charity event that Clongowes Wood College Transition Year students do every year.

Traditionally the ‘Duck’ has been pushed 265km from Dublin to Limerick city. This year the students plan to match the 265km, but do this over different legs around the country. The money raised from the initiative will go towards buying new medical equipment for Crumlin Children's hospital.

Organisers thanked everyone who supported this year’s ladies lunch event.

“The local businesses really got behind the event donating everything from their time to donating spot prizes, raffle prizes and lots of goodies for the goody bags. We would like to say a big thank you to everybody who attended and donated in any way to our event.”
