Cornafean man awarded All Star for his Hereford

Cornafean man Brian Duignan was honoured when the Irish Pedigree Cattle Breeders Council held their recent All-Star Awards night in the Midland’s Park Hotel, Portlaoise.

The awards, held for the first time since the pandemic struck, saw each of Ireland’s 16 breed societies nominate one member that they felt helped to best promote their respective breeds in 2022.

Brian, who is the owner of the Shancor Herefords herd, was nominated by the Hereford Society for his Supreme National Hereford Champion 2022 called Shancorpoll 1 Uakea.

This April 2021 born heifer is sired by Fabb 1 Northern Star and bred from Solpoll 1 Kentucky Kid and Corlismore bred dam. The heifer was outstanding during the National Show and was purchased before the end of the following week by a spectator at the show.
