Funding of almost €100K announced for heritage buildings in Cavan

New funding of €96,000 has been announced for heritage buildings in Cavan.

The funding which was announced by The Department of Heritage and Electoral Reform, will see several buildings with special status supported with substantial investment.

The works include the likes of repairs to roofs, the mitigation of dampness, the protection of historic windows and other conservation works.

The news was welcomed by Cavan-Monaghan TD Heather Humphreys, who said "these buildings are of huge heritage significance in Cavan and this funding will be so important to carry out much needed repairs and upgrades.

“From parish halls and churches, to old banks and stable buildings – this is an investment that will keep some of our most iconic properties in a condition so that they can accommodate visitors from Cavan and beyond."
