Oliver Gilsenan

Tullinaskeagh, Bailieborough, Cavan

The death has occurred of Oliver Gilsenan at his residence in Hornchurch, Essex and formerly of Tullinaskeagh, Bailieborough, Co Cavan on Monday 03rd April 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Maggie, sister Maura, brothers Martin and Jimmy.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife Bridget, sons Terence (Sarah) and Barry (Aleha), four graddaughters, sister Kathleen, brothers John, Raymond, Tony, Alfie and Desmond, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Funeral will take place in Hornchurch, Essex.

Hugh Henry Johnston

Boyher, Rockcorry, Monaghan / Cavan

Hugh Henry Johnston, Gipton, Leeds, West Yorkshire and formerly Boyher, Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan, died Friday 31 March 2023 peacefully, in the loving care of the staff and nurses of St James’ Hospital Leeds, following a short illness. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy and his parents Harry and Myrtle.

Sadly missed by his loving step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his loving twin sister Yvonne Hudson (Ken), his sisters Ina Hall (Cyril), Betty Cameron (John), his brothers Joe and Ian (Georgina), his cousins, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, his many friends and family circle.

Funeral service and burial will take place in Leeds at a later date.

Ned (Edmund) SMYTH

Dundalk, Louth / Killinkere, Cavan

Ned (Edmund) Smyth, Mill Street, Dundalk and formerly of Coolnacola, Killinkere, Co. Cavan, retired Gárda Detective. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. 5th April 2023. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary née Mahon, parents Thomas and Rose, brothers Jimmy, Pat and Andy, sisters Mary and Alice, and one great grandchild Kali. Ned will be sadly missed by sons, Eunan and Declan, daughter Catherine, grandchildren Catriona, Sarah, Gerard Majella and John and 10 great-grandchildren, son-in-law John Moran, daughter-in-law Allison Cooney, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his daughter, Catherine’s Home, 20 Hazelwood Avenue, Bay Estate A91 E8P7 from 12 noon on Saturday. Removal on Monday afternoon to St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church, arriving for Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery. The Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/dundalk

Eilish Taggart (née McManus)

Tallaght, Dublin / Ballyconnell, Cavan

Taggart (née McManus) Eilish (Tallaght and formerly of Ballyconnell, Co Cavan) 3rd April 2023 (unexpectedly) at home. Pre-deceased by her twin sister Margaret. Beloved wife of Seamus and loving mam to Ronan, Aislinn and Ciarán. Adored and much loved nanny to Dawn, Kelly, Isaac, Kyle, Ethan and Reuben. Eilish will be sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Rosie and Kathleen, brothers John, Thomas and Philip, son-in-law Nigel, daughter-in-law Gillian, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her residence on Monday (10th April) from 5pm until 7pm. Removal to the Church of St Thomas the Apostle, Tallaght, on Tuesday (11th April) arriving for 11am Funeral Mass and afterwards to Newlands Cross Cemetery.

Bernard Morgan

Cremartin, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Bernard Morgan, Cremartin, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Wednesday April 5th, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Philip and Elizabeth. Bernard, deeply regretted and remembered with love by his sons Gary and Brendan and their mother Angela, daughters in-law Amber and Sophie, cherished grandchildren Hazel, Ryan and Ethan sisters Kathleen and Maureen, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Bernard will repose at Ward’s Funeral Home Castleblayney, A75 NP30 on Friday 7th April from 4pm until 7pm. Bernard’s funeral cortège will travel from Ward’s Funeral Home, on Saturday morning at 10:45am to arrive at Lakeland’s Crematorium Cavan, for committal ceremony at 12 noon.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland C/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box.
